Dr. Richard Dunlap
Dr. Richard Dunlap earned a B.S. degree from the University of Toledo and a D.D.S. degree at the Ohio State University School of Dentistry. He continues to study advanced aspects of dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies in such topics as cosmetic dentistry and the neuromuscular approach to pain treatment and bite disorders.
His study of advances in root canal therapy has led to the adoption of faster, more comfortable root canal procedures at Dental Group West. He also helped develop the Medlite, a device that uses light energy and heat to eliminate pain and speed the body’s ability to heal.
A member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, the Toledo Dental Society and the Russell P. Bunting Periodontal Study Club, Dr. Dunlap is an avid golfer and is extremely customer oriented. “He has very good people skills and really fusses over his patients,” says a colleague.
Dr. Tracy Poole
Dr. Tracy Poole earned her D.D.S. degree at Ohio State University in an accelerated doctoral program. Following graduation, she completed an optional externship program in surgery at the Medical College of Virginia and another optional externship program in pediatric dentistry at the Children’s Hospital in Columbus. She also earned certification in conscious sedation at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She continues to study at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, and has a special interest in and passion for neuromuscular and cosmetic dentistry.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Toledo Dental Society, where she serves as an active board member.
An Ohio State fan, Dr. Poole served as the OSU football team’s dentist during the 1994-95 season. With a friendly personality and a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, she is known for taking very good care of her patients.
Dr. Richard Thomas
Dr. Richard Thomas is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he earned a degree in medical technology. He worked simultaneously as a medical technologist and research biologist before earning his D.D.S. degree from Case Western Reserve University. He then completed a one-year hospital-based residency program in advanced dental treatments for medically compromised and elderly patients at the Geisinger Medical Center. He also has studied postgraduate training in complete dental reconstruction at Ohio State University and has trained at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.
Dr. Thomas also serves part time as an assistant professor of dentistry at the University of Toledo Medical Center, where he teaches medical students and residents about temporomandibular disorders and general and cosmetic dental techniques. His passion for teaching has won him a teaching award.
He is an officer of the Western Ohio Academy of Dental Practice Administration, and is a member of the Frances B. Vedder Crown and Bridge Society and the Russell P. Bunting Periodontal Study Club. He also is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association and the Toledo Dental Society.
Dr. Thomas likes working with his hands. His artistic side is reflected in a love for photography, pen and ink drawing and woodworking.
Dr. Robert Weisenburger
Dr. Robert Weisenburger followed in his father’s footsteps and is a second generation dentist. He earned his B.S. and D.D.S. degrees from Ohio State University and, while still a student, completed advanced training in complete dental reconstruction. He also has particular expertise in implant dentistry after finishing a comprehensive three-year internship at the Midwest Implant Institute and Center for the Advancement of Dentistry in Worthington, Ohio. Dr. Weisenburger is licensed to administer conscious sedation, so patients can literally sleep through extensive treatment.
He attends continuing education classes well beyond what is mandatory, and is an active member and past president of the Russell P. Bunting Periodontal Study Club. He also is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association and the Toledo Dental Society. Dr. Weisenburger enjoys staying fit and relishes his favorite outdoor activity, kayaking, where he has become quite proficient.
In addition to the doctors, our staff includes four hygienists, six assistants and four front office coordinators. They are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and work hard to ensure that your visit is as pleasant as possible.
